Music...

I have been playing the concert flute (also known as the traditional or wooden flute) for about 10 years on and off. I go to lessons with Paul Mc Gratten from the band Beginish in the Pipers Club in Henrietta St. Paul is an amazing player and a great teacher. I also play sessions around the place, sometimes in Dunboyne in Meath which is near enough to where I live, but lately in a pub called Hughes at the back of the Fourcourts in Dublin and in the Cobblestone in Smithfield Square, a very famous traditional music pub.

The flute I play was made by Eamonn Cotter from Clare.

I am hoping to include com MP3's here soon, once I get around to recording them.

Wooden Flute Guide - A great site full of useful information on buying and caring for a flute. Also has interviews and listings of makers.

The ABCMus Home Page - Every traditional musician should have a copy of this excellent program. Its a program which can play tunes in "ABC" format. You can search for tunes and speed up/slow down the tunes which is great for learning. It can even figure out chords!

Tunes for the above - Henrik Norbeck's Home Page, the guy who wrote the above program. His site contains hundreds of tunes in "ABC" format.
